American rice has many advantages when catering on a large-scale - it represents good value, is quick and easy to prepare, is very healthy and tastes superb.
Compared with other accompaniments that regularly appear on menus, such as potatoes and pasta, it soon becomes clear that none of them can outperform rice on a price per serving ratio. Pasta, which is similar to rice in terms of price, is less economical, and potatoes, which are so bulky to store, cost more than three times as much as the little rice grain.
