Light, healthy food for your dinners !

The topic of healthy eating isn't confined to fitness fanatics. Increasingly nutrition is becoming a mainstream issue. More and more people are realising that by balancing their eating habits and making small changes in the foods they consume, they are not only improving their health in the short-term but in the long-term too. Who can honestly say that they wouldn’t enjoy meals that, as well as being delicious, are actually good for them?

'Fit for Life': In keeping with this theme, we would like to make some menu suggestions, which show just how simple it is to offer your customers healthy and varied dishes. With an American rice week this is easy to achieve!

Our 'Fit for Life' week comprises ten recipe ideas to be mixed and matched throughout the week. Each recipe will serve ten people and quantities can easily be adapted to increase or decrease portion servings.

The recipes have been devised to provide between 400-500 kcal per serving and are not designed to be viewed as weight-reducing meals.

Each meal does contain a prudent balance of healthy ingredients that aren't calorie dense in order to help maintain weight levels and provide adequate energy to be 'Fit for Life'. Nutrition details are given with each recipe and can be featured on your menus for the diner's interest.

To make everything as straightforward as possible, wherever the quantities given refer to uncooked rice, we've used American Easy Cook (Parboiled) long grain rice, which itself retains more minerals and vitamins than regular milled rice. So, not only can you arrange a culinary theme week - easily pleasing your customers - you can keep them healthy at the same time, which let's face it, gives your business a healthy future too!
